WHAT IS FROSH?
​Forget everything you've seen on TV or heard about what other University's do. McGill's Frosh week is a total of four days and is there for you to become familiar with the campus, the beautiful city of Montreal and to make new friends in your program. It caters to all students interests by providing a variety of activities, events and team bonding so you can have the best time ever.
WHEN IS FROSH?
Frosh 2019 will be held from Thursday, August 29th to Sunday, September 1st!
I'm already a montrealer, should I attend frosh?
​You know this city like the back of your hand, but Frosh is also about meeting people within your faculty. University life is always more enjoyable when you have best friends to share your experiences with.
I'M a kinesiology student, why should I do education frosh?
Although Kinesiology is a Bachelor of Science, your program still falls within the Department of Physical Education and Kinesiology (DPEK). That said, if you do Frosh with us, you are more likely to meet other students in your program since it is a smaller program at McGill.
Can i attend frosh if i'm underage?
Absolutely! Frosh is designed for all incoming students and most of the events throughout frosh are for all ages! For some of the events that are 18+, there will be other, fun alternative events that you can participate in!
is frosh all about drinking?
There will be some events (18+) where alcohol is present, however we are all about pro choice! Frosh is designed so that all participants can have an amazing time whether they choose to drink or not. Other, non-alcoholic beverages will also be available!
will i be doing frosh alone?
Each Froshie (which is you) is placed within a group of about 20 new students. Your group will always be accompanied by your Frosh Leaders and O-Staff, who know all of the details about Frosh and are your go-to guides whenever you have questions or concerns.
am i obliged to attend all four days?
The price for frosh includes all four days and we highly encourage you to be present during the entirety of Frosh as you will make lots of friends and enjoy diverse activities and events! However, we understand that you have other obligations and it is 100% alright if you attend whenever you can and take some time for yourselves! #SelfCare
Who are Frosh coordinators?
They are upper-year Education students who have dedicated their entire summer to plan Education Frosh 2019! They know all the details about Frosh and are your go-to people for more serious questions and concerns. You will see them around all throughout Frosh.
Who are Frosh leaders and ostaff?
Frosh Leaders are also upper-year students who have be carefully selected through an interview process to be your right-hand and guide throughout Frosh. They will be by your side at every event and are there to answer any questions you have about anything and will make sure you're having a fun and safe time.
O-Staff are our main helpers! They make sure each destination is fully set-up for you to have an amazing time, they are our extra hands during Frosh and always present so Frosh can run smoothly.
How do i sign up for frosh?
Registration for frosh 2019 is now open! Visit www.mcgilloweek.ca and click on 'register'! Do it now, you won't regret it!
WHEN AND WHERE CAN I PICK UP MY BRACELET AND FROSH GEAR?
You will be able to pick up your bracelet and frosh gear starting on August 21st until the 28th (including) from 9am-5pm on Lower Field until the first day of frosh! We will have a tent/booth set up with everything ready for you! Make sure to have completed the mandatory Sexual Violence Program before coming to see us and bring your McGill IDs with you as we will need them in order to give you all your frosh essentials!
How will I know which team I am a part of during frosh?
During opening ceremonies on the first day of frosh, there will be someone set up at a table to check you in who will tell you which frosh group you are in! 
I experience certain mental/physical barriers, can i still participate in frosh?
The answer is absolutely! Frosh is designed to be inclusive and accessible to all incoming students, and we even have an Inclusivity Coordinator on our team who will be able to answer your questions and address your concerns!
how much does it cost to participate in frosh?
Each frosh ticket costs $170, which includes access to all 4 days and events and also includes all your frosh gear (shirt, hat, sunglasses, bag and mug). We will also be offering 2 bursaries to incoming students who show financial need but who still wish to participate in frosh. Each bursary reduces the price of frosh by 50% ($85) and you can apply by filling out the following form: https://forms.gle/SHSu3xRc8Q94HrtWA
will food be provided? what if I have dietary restrictions?
There will be some events where food will be provided to you, such as during the Montreal Crawl and Beach Day. You will be required to list any and all dietary restrictions upon registration, which we will have in our records. Alternative food options will be available at all events where food is provided.
