Megan Berty (she/her/elle)Internal: The big boss who makes sure all coords are doing their job and who coordinates with internals from other faculties. Sponsorships: Finds businesses to sponsor frosh and decides what amount is worth what benefits for the companies. Hi! I'm Pavlos and I'm a U4 student in Physical Education. Information about being a Coordinator!
What are the different coordinator roles at education frosh?
Do I need to apply to be a leader or o-staff to be a coordinator?
We ask that everyone applying to be a coordinator for education frosh also applies to be a leader or o-staff in case you are not chosen! We have to pick from lots of amazing candidates every year and do not want you to miss out on the amazing experience of frosh if we are not able to choose you as a coordinator.
Is it a lot of work to be a coordinator?
Being a frosh coordinator is a serious commitment and does require lots of work - but it is so worth it! You will make lifelong friends by meeting new people from education and other faculties. Being a frosh coordinator is truly one of the best experiences and the heavy workload is worth it!
Can I apply to be an education coordinator if I'm from another faculty?
Yes! While we will prioritize a candidate from the faculty of education in a situation of equal competence, we invite people from other faculties to apply to be a part of the education family. #WeAreAllBestFriends
What is the application process for coordinators?
Make sure that you have applied to be a leader/o-staff first, and then fill out this form. We will contact you in March for an individual interview!
- Internal: Slightly different from the VP Internal position on EdUS, this person sits in the Internal Organization Committee (IOC) and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of education frosh. This year, Megan is our Frosh director!
- Chair: This person also sits as a non-voting member of the IOC board and makes all of the big decisions with the Internal. The Chair also holds another role on the education coordinator team. This year Clare is our Chair.
- Logistics: This person is responsible for planning the events at frosh. They make the schedule, book venues and are responsible for making sure that every event goes off without a hitch.
- Chief of Staff: This person is responsible for our leaders and o-staff. They will sit on any inter-faculty training redesign committees and organize our education bondings and trainings.
- Communications: This person is responsible for our social media pages, graphics, and all other promotional material. Our communications coordinator has a lot of creative liberty and is responsible for making sure that our theme is well represented.
- Sponsorships: This person creates partnerships between education frosh and local businesses. Our sponsorships coordinator creates new connections with businesses and maintains existing ones.
- Inclusivity and Sustainability: This person sits on the interfaculty Inclusivity and Sustainability Committee (ISC) and is responsible for making frosh inclusive and sustainable in our programming, training and media presence. This is the coordinator you would reach out to if you have any issues about Frosh or have anything you want to talk about whether this is accessibility concerns, situations that you want to disclose, or anything else that you want to share.
- Inter-Faculty: This person sits on the Inter-Faculty Committee (IFC) and is responsible for organizing inter-faculty events with representatives from the other faculty froshes. In the past, these events have included inter-faculty concerts, beach day and inter-faculty games night.
