Land Acknowledgement
McGill University is located in Tiohti:áke [Joh-jaw-gay], Montreal on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, notably the Anishinabeg [Ah-nish-ih-nah’-bey] and Kanien’keha:ka [Ga-niyen-ge-HAA-ga] nations, the latter of which is one of the 6 nations composing the Haudenosaunee [Hoh-DEE-noh-SHoh-nee] confederacy.
We, as members of the McGill community, acknowledge our position as settlers on this unceded land and acknowledge the perpetual repercussions of colonialism on Indigenous peoples. Indeed, beyond territorial depossession, colonialism has led to the erasure of Indigenous culture, the exclusion of Indigenous voices in politics, and many forms of intergenerational trauma.
It is important that we all do our part in dismantling individual biases and societal barriers that have negative repercussions on Indigenous lives to this day. We call for members of the McGill community to engage in real action and reflection. Ways of doing this include educating ourselves, uplifting indigenous voices, integrating Indigenous knowledge, pushing for more diversity in our government and institutions, and supporting Indigenous organizations and charities. Hello! Welcome to McGill's 14th annual Education Frosh! We are a group of 7 individuals who have dedicated our time to ensure that we can present the best Frosh possible. We each have very unique and important roles to help our Frosh succeed. We cannot wait to experience this year's Frosh with you!
What is Education Frosh?
Education Frosh is a three day event that takes place right at the beginning of your McGill journey. At Frosh, you will be introduced to the McGill community and different aspects of student life in Montreal. Dates Education frosh will take place August 30th to September 1st, 2025. Registration will open on July 28! |
